May I suggest "Camelot and Avalon, A Distributed Transaction Facility"
by Eppinger, Mummert, and Spector published by Morgan Kaufmann. The
book is very recent and even though I have received a copy, have not
had a chance to go over it very carefully. However, it looks like it
is a very detailed description of the system.
