University, industry and government representatives from around the world are invited to meet and discuss important issues related to planning, implementing, managing and funding national, regional and international networks. INET'91 sessions cover the main application areas of physics and chemistry, space science, education, libraries and life sciences. Technology sessions include topics such as the Internet, collaboration techniques, new technology and perspectives of the future. A track on policy includes sessions in relation to commercial services, international links, security and open communication. Finally there will be sessions for discussion of regional issues, among these a session on Eastern Europe. Before the conference, on June 17th, two tutorial sessions are arranged on the topics of building a network and on IP networking. Furthermore, a workshop for delegates from developing countries will be held in connection to INET'91. The topic is "How to plan for and implement research and academic networks". This workshop is held on June 15-16 (the weekend before INET'91) with a closing session immediately after INET'91 on June 20th. If cancellation is made after June 10, 1991 no refund of fee can be expected. Hotel Reservations ------------------ The conference bureau, DIS Congress Service Copenhagen A/S, offers participants hotel rooms at a special conference price. Rooms will be booked in the price category indicated on the registration form. If you register after April 15, please note that some price categories may be fully booked. Hotel rooms will be booked only if a deposit has been received by the Conference Bureau. The deposit will be deducted the hotel bill when you check out. All conference hotels are situated in the centre of Copenhagen. The conference is held at the 'A' hotel. Ground Transportation --------------------- Just outside the Danish customs at the airport, you can board the SAS bus directly to the Conference hotel. The first stop is the SAS Scandinavia (Please inform the driver). You can also take a taxi for approximately 60 DKK. Exchange Rate and Banks ----------------------- The present exchange rate (March 1991) is approx. 6 DKK per US dollar. In other words, a Danish krone is worth 16 US cents. The banks are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Thursday, hours are extended until 6:00 p.m. All major credit cards are accepted at most restaurants, shops and hotels. You can draw cash in Danish currency (DKK) on your VISA or EURO card from cash dispensers 24 hours a day using your cash dispenser code. Travel Documents ---------------- A valid passport is required for all international travellers. For citizens of the U.S., Western European countries, and some other countries, a visa is not required for entrance into Denmark. Visitors from other countries may required a visa to enter Denmark. Check with the Danish Embassy in your country. Foreign nationals coming from the USA and other countries should also check their visa status for re-entry to their country of departure. Social events ------------- On Tuesday evening, June 18, the participants of INET'91 are invited to a reception. A gala banquet will take place Wednesday evening at the restaurant NIMB in the centre of the city. This restaurant is situated adjacent to the world famous amusement park TIVOLI, where an ambience of good-will blends itself with the uniquely beautiful surroundings to give you an unforgettable experience. After the banquet, the participants will enter the TIVOLI garden, where the evening ends with the traditional display of fireworks.
