HELP! I have a used MAXTOR 380MB hardrive.  I have a GVP Impact Series II
SCSI controller and when the machine boots up, it hangs with unexpected
status "$00/$00". on the gvpscsi.device.  The drive lights and then stops.
The light on the panel then flivkers faintly at regular intervals.  I have
tried a low-level format but acnnot read the drive.  Is the drive dead?
What do you folks think?
