Keywords: MTBF hard drives A3000 Message-ID: Date: 17 Apr 91 22:32:42 GMT Organization: NJ InterCampus Network, New Brunswick, N.J. Lines: 18 My A3000 just started making some whirring noises. I suspect it's the hard drive bearings. Does anyone know how long it's supposed to last. I haven't had it for a year yet. If I have to turn it off constantly then it won't be much good as a 'substitute' for a work station that just stays turned on all the time. Any ideas what else could be wrong ? Should I start looking into remedies before it crashes completely (if it is the HD) ? regards mark -- hubey@pilot.njin.net | hubey@apollo.montclair.edu | ...!rutgers!pilot!hubey
