I recall some games that when 'BRUN' (notice the caps! :) ) would trash, the text screen, put up a little 'QUICKLOAD' or something logo and pull all the data off the disk furiously (Seemingly thru locations in the text screen - the garbage on the screen changed from sector to sector).
