Message-ID: <9104181825.AA25212@ludwig.sharebase.com> Date: 18 Apr 91 18:25:11 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Lines: 19 I want to use my Atari 1040 ST TOS 1.4 to connect to a remote SUN which is set up using a terminal handler that doesn't recognize the modem's declaration of the connect speed. Hence, it is a requirement that the terminal emulator that is used be capable of sending a BREAK function in order to tell the remote SUN to switch speeds. ALL SUGGESTIONS WELCOMED, I require MONO monitor support, I have a hard disk, I prefer a good PD emulator that already handles BREAK support for which source is available for customization in C, ASM, or FORTH. I am a programmer, so would also welcome suggestions as to how to program such support into my own programs: I tried toggling the break bit in the UART, with a variety of timing delays to adjust the length of the BREAK signal, but none of them seemed to be very effective. I used the XBIOS i/f to the UART chip-- must that be bypassed to get it right? Sample code to do this properly would be welcomed in C, ASM, or FORTH. Thanks to all who respond.
