I just bought the Seagate ST1440  (124MB / 19ms / IDE) and am quite pleased
with the performance. Here in Germany it cost about 900DM (ca. $560).
unitl now i had no problems with it, not even a bad cluster.
as disk cache i use smartdrive with 512k to 1MB.
