You must realize your PC motherboard has an 8-bit bus; thus, finding a controller to do what you want (big HD, etc.) that is an 8-bit controller is well-nigh impossible, and downright silly considering the slow transfer speed you would get. By the time you get through buying all the piece parts, you probably will have spent more than the purchase of a 386 clone. What kind of grant would require such a restriction that you have to pay more and work harder?
