Message-ID: <3363@beguine.UUCP> Date: 16 Apr 91 19:21:32 GMT Sender: usenet@beguine.UUCP Organization: UNC-CH School of Medicine Lines: 34 Originator: danielg@earl Has anyone seen the ads by FastMicro this month? It appears to me that they are undercutting everyone with their prices (which is fine by me, since I'm thinking of buying ;-). I don't have the ad with me, but in the April PC World they advertise their 386-33 for the afformentioned price. From memory, that included: - 4 Meg RAM - 100 MB 20 ms hard drive - super VGA card and monitor - 1.2 *and* 1.4 MB floppies - 386DX-33 chip For $150, they'll add in Windows 3 and a microsoft mouse (for $100 they'll add Windows 3 plus their own mouse). The longer I wait (and suffer) to buy a pc, the lower the prices get, maybe $50-100 per month (my rough estimate). Also included are 30 day money back guarantee (sp?) and some type of service contract. They say that they use quality innards (Toshiba floppies, other name brands for other parts). Sounds good! Any feedback? I think I'll just wait some more and see how low prices dip before I'm so desparate for a computer that I'll part with my hard earned cash! And maybe I won't buy a Mac LC after all! p.s. I have no affiliation with or personal interest in FastMicro, just taking up some bandwidth :-).
