I run Freemacs which is semi-endorsed by the GNU project. (They mention it in their bullentin, but don't want requests of any kind) You can ftp freemacs from sun.soe.clarkson.edu. Is there a support group, or discussion group for Freemacs? Yes. freemacs@sun.soe.clarkson.edu. To get added to the list, send mail to freemacs-request@sun.soe.clarkson.edu, or send an automatic request to listserv@sun.soe.clarkson.edu saying "add freemacs". I'm interested in learning more about Mint code, and discussing a possible implementation of the GNU Emacs 'shell' command that I'm working on. Is the current version still 16a? Yes. Are there plans to release a new version? (I.E. Should I wait for the next one before writing my 'shell' command?) I plan to release a new version. John Thiel added some code to swap emacs to disk (or EMS) when spawning a program. This is *so* neat that I just have to put it out. I'm also working on Mint code to load greater than 64K files into multiple buffers, and save it out afterwards. That would certainly be interesting to a lot of people! -russ -- --russ I'm proud to be a humble Quaker.
