Yes, it's a Sony Trinitron (to the best of my knowledge).  And for a
fair amount LESS than a Sony 1304, I get the same quality.  

[I haven't popped the case to check this for sure, but it does have the
 usual Sony 'tension mask' line in the bottom 1/3 of the screen.]
