Make sure you transmit the file with MacBinary OFF (just in case), and with
NO alteration of the file (such as "strip control characters","LF->CR", etc.)

ZTerm may recognize the file to be a GIF file and set its file type. The latest
versions of GIFConverter have "look inside files" buttons in the open box.
These tell GIFConverter to deduce the file type from the contents of the file
rather than from the finder information, which is not transmitted with GIFs.
