Message-ID: <1991Apr18.224729.21922@engin.umich.edu> Summary: No mouse response Keywords: mouse cursor no control not moving panic help! Sender: news@engin.umich.edu (CAEN Netnews) Organization: University of Michigan Engineering, Ann Arbor Distribution: all Date: Thu, 18 Apr 1991 22:47:29 GMT I did a stupid thing....I su'd as root and launched UserManager, and changed the group of the account I was logged in on! Workspace promptly froze up on attempted logout, and now whenever I boot I get a tiny little window in front of the loginwindow, logged in as root. If I type "logout" there, boot proceeds, but then the mouse tracking doesn't work! The right button does pop up a the menu, but the cursor (if it appears at all) doesn't move and no menu items are highlighted. I hope I haven't fried a chip or something.... Also--I just got a CD-ROM drive; I removed it and tried, no luck. Would faulty termination cause a problem like this?
