To all that mailed me with advice  -  thankyou

Now the spelchecking method I found best was 

	ispell -t filename.tex

This is interactive and your online Unix manual will inform you on it.

By the way I'm working on a Sun-3 net.

Another utility I haven't used is DETEX which strips away a TeX file to 
plain text.
