Is there any X Windows based, public domain software available ( with source 
code) for displaying a directory tree ? I would like to display the directory
tree with following features:

1) tree should grow from left to right
2) should support horizontal and vertical scroll bar
3) should open/close a directory using button clicks
4) should be able to move/delete files, directories and subtrees
etc.

I would appreciate any information on this. I would like to know some books
or reference material where I can find more about how to implement it 
very efficiently. Any other suggestions will be very welcome.
