Firstly I'm using the Athena Widget set. What I'm trying to write is an interface to TeX. An application was written for the PC (not in X), which allows the user to choose the style of form (eg. letter, memo, fax etc.) he (or she) wishes to use. The main window appropriately changes. For example when in letter format the fields in the letter format are:- - name - address - greeting - closing - another name field - annotations in memo style:- - to - from - subject - annotations and in fax style:- - to - fax. no - from - phone The user simply has to fill in the fields and when the appropriate choice from the menu is chosen the user input is converted to TeX (ie. the user does not have to know TeX to do this). The main body of all styles is entered with a separate window (process) which will be fork'ed (in the PC it was spawn'ed) in which there is an editor (vi or whatever). The idea is to get the main window area to change layout when a different form style is chosen. What I want to know is the best :) way to change the widgets in the main window area. I hope this is somewhat clearer than the previous post.
