Message-ID: <9104181837.AA04107@zerkalo.harvard.edu> Sender: daemon@athena.mit.edu (Mr Background) Organization: The Internet Date: 18 Apr 91 18:37:30 GMT Lines: 28 Hi there, One of our users asked the following question: In SunView I could toggle Caps Lock just for the window I was in by hitting the F1 key. All other windows were not affected. Can I do this in X-windows? Can anyone answer this question? (We're using X11R4, patch level 18, twm, sun3 and sun4, sunos 4.1.1.) I looked through mit/clients/xterm/ctlseqs.ms and ctlseq2.txt but didn't see anything that related to upper/lower case. I also looked through mit/clients/xterm/charproc.c and didn't see anything obvious, nor was there any info in the xterm man page. I looked in mit/server/ddx/sun/sunKbd.c, and while there were some references to caps-lock and shifting to upper case, it wasn't clear how this code could be used to selectively turn caps-lock on or off on a per-xterm basis. If anyone has any ideas on how to accomplish this, or any suggestions on where else I should look for information, I'd be most grateful. Manavendra K.
