The subject of my article says it all. Here is exactly my problem. I'd like to find a sort of big on-disk dictionary that contains french words and their coresponding english translation. The dictionary would look as close as possible like a printed french<->english dictionary. This dictionary would be useful for me for two reasons: (1) When I'm reading an English word or idiom I don't undestand, I'd like an easy interface to search for it in the dictionary and find its translation in French. (2) When I'm writing a paper in English, I sometimes need an English translation of some french words or expressions. If anyone knows where I can find such a dictionary, many thanks in advance for his/her reply either by e-mail or in this newsgroup!
