These were hooked to the speaker wires of audio and I am told made interesting paterns according to the volume and frequencies of the sounds comming from the audio equipment. I have seen wireless devices for monitoring a baby. I suggest you see if color organs still exist and attach one to a baby monitor find a crying baby or recording and see what the result is.
