Mission 774 arm (save the hissing to the end, please) Naim Hi-Cap, 250 amp and 42s pre-amp (updated '89) Linn Asaka cartridge The cartridge is over a year old and when I brought it into my dealer, he showed me the stylus under the microscope, and told me what I was looking at was wear. I did see a difference between the right and left sides that I guess is an indication of wear, but everything sounds fine to me. At any rate, assuming he's right, I can trade in the Asaka for a new one at half price, and I'm wondering if there are any others I should be looking at. I'm sure I can find ways to spend lots of bucks replacing the arm as well (not to mention the speakers, which I skillfuly avoided), but I'm not ready to go for a major expenditure now. Speaking of that, from everything that I've read, the Lingo should be the next thing I buy, but I'm having a hard time thinking about spending ~$1,000 for that. So, any suggestions about cartridges, arms, and Lingos? Thanks for your time. -- Maurice Weitman mo@well.sf.ca.us ..!{hplabs,pacbell,apple,ucbvax}!well!mo | <- this is not a pipe 1634 Walnut Berkeley, CA 94709 (415)549-0280 Quote: "Facts are stupid things."
