Message-ID: <71014@eerie.acsu.Buffalo.EDU> Date: 15 Apr 91 22:06:25 GMT Sender: news@acsu.Buffalo.EDU Distribution: usa Organization: SUNY Buffalo Lines: 16 Nntp-Posting-Host: lictor.acsu.buffalo.edu While birding this weekend I saw a couple of Canada Geese with neck bands. They were close enough for me to get the numbers off them. As I understand it, I can write to the US Fish and Wildlife Service with the info I have, and some time later I might receive a report on the movements of these two birds. I get the impression that this takes some time. Does anyone out there know if there is a quicker way to get the info? I'm just wondering if I can get the info before mid-May, so I can share it with the folks in my intermediate birding class before it ends. Quite a few Canadas out there (25,000? -- Iroquois NWR, western New York), plus one lost blue-phased Snow Goose... Steve Tirone
