Since I haven't seen this posted yet:

Use a VLF convertor to up-convert the sub-carriers to 4 Mhz. Then
tune 4 to 4.1 with your HF rcvr ( my R71A has FM ). Even using AM
with 'slope-detection' should allow you to 'investigate'. If you
find something really worthwhile, then worry about building something.

Some receivers will pass enough of the sub-carriers right out the
speaker jack and some may require you to connect to the discriminator.
