Animations made by Gifdesk Animator, if I recall it right.

You should have looked a little closer to their archive: you would
have found aaplay from the same directory where you found these
animations.

For those interested in animations: there are some more in
nic.funet.fi (128.214.6.100) in /pub/msdos/animation/. Also players
(aaplay & grasprt) can be found from there.
