For a few months (certainly longer than the 3 month warranty) it worked just fine. More recently it has been exceedingly tempermental. Once in every 9 or 10 attempts the DTR light will come up when my PC asserts DTR. Using the modem doctor software (shareware) that a friend lent me I discovered that the problem has to be the modem, and that perhaps the main microprocessor has bit the dust. I have noticed that all of the silicon inside is manufactured in Taiwan :-{ What I'd like to know --- * Has anyone else out there got such a modem? * Have you had any difficulty with it? * And is there an easy fix? I don't read this newsgroup, so could you please e-mail in reply. Please also note that as I live in Wellington, New Zealand, calling and asking the manufacturers is impractical, as well as unlikely to be of any help. Any assistance would be much appreciated... _ || martin@comp.vuw.ac.nz ' )--,--, _/_ || Victoria University / / / __ __ / . _ || Wellington, New Zealand / / (_(_/|_/ (_(_(_/ ) || -- _ || martin@comp.vuw.ac.nz ' )--,--, _/_ || Victoria University / / / __ __ / . _ || Wellington, New Zealand / / (_(_/|_/ (_(_(_/ ) || martin@actrix.co.nz
