Remember that for all practical purposes, vi and emacs expect to have a full duplex line and expect to be be in ``raw'' mode. A 3270 operates only in half-duplex mode and who knows if CMS can simulate raw mode. I guess there must be some horrible hacks out there, however. BTW, another poster keeps talking about opening up lines. What do you mean by opening them up? david
