A couple of days ago I ftp'ed the latest Bob Ainsbury effort, the Technojock's Object Toolkit, for TP5.5/6.0. It looks pretty good, except that is has problems under DesqView/386. If you resize a window, the area underneath it is garbage, and if you try and move the window, the whole system crashes (Big Red Switch time). This is quite a feat under DV/386! I tried upping the protection level of the DV Window - and the demo program TOTDEMO seems to want to write to some pretty weird places (where it shouldn't be looking). I know from the Fido echo ZONE3_TECH that this problem has been discovered elsewhere - has anyone else had the problem, and possibly fixed it? I will have to try and track down the error. Another good idea might be to get TOT to write to the DV video buffer if it is running under DV - although this is just a nicety. I am also mailing Bob Ainsbury at his compuserve address, but I imagine that this must be a known problem by now. Didn't ANY of the beta testers run DesqView? -- Conrad Bullock | Domain: conrad@comp.vuw.ac.nz Victoria University of Wellington, | or: conrad@cavebbs.gen.nz New Zealand. | Fidonet: 3:771/130 | BBS: The Cave BBS +64 4 643429
