I bought mine in New Jersey for $1525 by from an outfit that's also a vendor to my corporation and offers a slight employee discount for private purchases as well. I did not buy memory (I forgot to!), but I've done enough research to know that $150 is a pretty good price. Just make sure that the board you buy - assuming that you are indeed buying 2 Meg - can accept an additional 2 Meg on the same board. Assuming, of course, that you intent to expand beyond 2 Meg. By the way, two of my friends bought the LJIII and discovered that their existing "generic" printer cable would not work. One bought an HP printer cable for about $35 (!); the other bought a printer cable from a reputable outfit called Black Box, for about $25. When I mentioned this to my sapesperson, he pooh-poohed that idea, said that my old cable would work, and he was right. So just take this as a word of caution. Also, I would suggest that you splurge and buy paper specifically intended for use in a laser printer; it's wonderful. I went to my local office supplies discount supermarket ("Staples") and bought a ream of Hammermill brand paper labeled, I believe, "Laser Bond." It was about a buck more (around $5.49 for a ream) than regular paper, but well worth it. What's another dollar when you've just bought an LJIII? Also, I recently went to a computer show and bought a nifty plastic dust cover that covers the printer with paper tray in place. With two youngsters in the house it was well worth it; under $10. Good luck. -- Jim Dalin AT&T "No Salga Afuera" N.Y.C.T.A. ATTMail id: !jdalin
