All excited, I booted up the AT disk, and lo and behold, immediately after the "Booting Minix" message, the boot program complains about a disk read error. So, I try the PC boot disk. Same thing. And for the Universal Boot disk. Aghast, I try the disk on my old XT. It works. Obviously, there is some sort of compatability problem with the AT floppy drive. However, as far as I know, it is completely hardware compatable. Things that access the hardware directly, like PCTOOLS' backup program work fine. System configuration: Standard Computer 386 w/4 meg ram, 1.2 and 1.44 floppies, and a 100 meg HD. Any sugestions? richard~ richard@stat.tamu.edu st12a@menudo.uh.edu
