Why is this slower? You've been spoiled by the Amiga, where new releases of the O/S have been enhancements and bug-fixes. Other PC operating systems use new releases to kludge in stuff that's been on the Amiga from the beginning, and basically consiste of a new O/S plus life-support stuff to emulate the old O/S so people don't have to buy new software to go with the new O/S. -- Peter da Silva. `-_-' .
