Are you sure your friend is running System 5.0.4 (nothing less than that will do)? Adequate memory (2 megs or so)? I found that the Great GrafSpeed 1.1 NDA does funny things with forked applications (like HCGS). Bill Gulstad said he is working on that bug. It crashed HCGS once, and other times it would cause certain resources not to show up (like missing stack icons, missing sounds, etc.) Try booting off a fresh copy of System 5.0.4 from floppy and running HCGS off the hard drive.
