Well, what you're remembering is the ST Report flap. The ST Report on-line magazine always had an advertisement for hard-drives from the editor's business. That's fine on GEnie and CI$, but isn't in line with Usenet etiquette. Z*Net's only flaw in this regard is that sometimes they're a bit enthusiastic about reprinting verbatim press releases from software companies. These sometimes go overboard on the advertising side. But I don't think I've nuked one in ages. All in all, Z*Net is a much better publication than ST Report anyway.
