An IBM person once mentioned in this group that the compilers could not be
made available for anonymous ftp (by IBM or anyone else) because that would
violate an agreement with Metaware.

The gcc situation is still the same: when gcc v2 is released it will work on
the RT.  If you want to know when that will be, ask rms (he may not know
either).  Until then, use hc.
