There really is a PIG, in ResEdit that is. I saw this explanation and thought others that have seen comments about the famous PIG mode. Pig Mode, available in ResEdit 2.1 and later apparently was made to help the ResEdit team find bugs. It is invoked by holding down Shift, Option, and Command keys while sel- ecting the "about ResEdit." It is a diagnostic mode that compacts and also purges memory while ResEdit is running.
