Lines: 37 I am planning to take a Mac IIx to Europe (Iceland, actually) and would appreciate some advice. I apologize if the questions are naive. The system is two years old and consists of a Mac IIx running version 6.0.3 of Mac OS an Apple RGB monitor Isobar surge suppressor a Laserwriter IISC a US Robotics Courier 2400 modem. 1. Is it reasonably safe to ship by air freight (Icelandair)? 2. Will the system work on European current? The manuals for the IIx specifies 120/240 volts AC RMS automatically configured 48-62 Hz and the manual for the monitor specifies 85-270 Vrms self-configuring 50-60 Hz so the IIx and the monitor should pose no problem. Will the surge suppressor work? The Laserwriter seems to be configured only for US voltage. Will the modem need more than a new transformer? 3. Is it worth upgrading the Laserwriter SC to postscript capability, or would a new postscript printer be cheaper and better? (Tex will be one of the main applications.) Thanks for any help.
