I was happily computing away on my '030 NeXT and went to print something. I got an error message saying that I did not have a printer attached. After making a quick check of all cables and retrying to no avail, I tried using the command /usr/etc/nppower on The command returns: ?Could not open /dev/np0! The man page on nppower says: `?Could not open /dev/np0!' will be printed if no printer is connect to the printer port. Well, since then, I have ohm'd out the printer cable. It's ok. I checked to make sure I had AC power to the printer. That's fine too. I even pulled the metal plate off the bottom of the printer and looked around. I removed the little board that the interface cable plugs in to and saw a fuse on it. I checked the fuse -- it's good. I also tried booting off another disk to make sure that I didn't have a software problem. Does anyone have any ideas of what else I might try? Thanks a million for any advice!
