I'm having problems using the 'dial' command in kermit.
When I use it, the TR and HS lamps on the modem flash, as if
it were being reset or something, but the RD and SD lights
never flash.

I have use connect then issue my own AT commands to dial.
Are there any configurations of kermit or my modem I must do?
My at&v matches that in the Net & Sys Adm book (it is a Hayes
2400).

Kermit works okay otherwise, but having to use my own AT
commands is an inconvenience.
