Can anyone explain why one can't run disks which have a read ahead cache
option enabled on a Sun Sparcstation (4/40)?  I have two such drives (A
Fujitsu 2266 and a Hitachi DK-312.  Both drives give odd errors when that
option is enabled.  Yet when I run that way, I get up to a 50% boast in
read performance.
