It is currently connected to /dev/cua1. What I have attempted to do, and maybe I am wrong, is to setup in the /etc/ttytab file an enty called /dev/ttya and set it to remote. Then I have an entry for the modem in the remote file. But, I get the familiar all ports busy message when trying to access the port for dial-out after the getty has been initialized. But, I have found that it is possible to dial in during this scenario. So, I really need to know how to clear the port so I can use it. I called sun support, and they weren't able to help me. .....They couldn't make any immediate suggestions. I am running the ttysoftcar program to try and clear the port but it doesn't seem to help. I heard that in some of the SPARC-1's that a bug in the ROM caused this problem, but it should have been fixed by now. Do I need to run a special serial cable or something? Any suggestions? - Ted | tlarson@polyslo.calpoly.edu | saturn!ted@polyslo.calpoly.edu (HOME) ^^^^ Mail me here....it's better.
