The smit entries seem to be correctly set (enable, 9600 bps, 8 bits, 1 stop etc.). Getty is running, yet there is no login prompt and /etc/security/users and /etc/security/login.cfg look reasonable. The most I got was echo of the stuff typed at the terminal, but no action. When I tried to echo "hello" >/dev/tty0 as root, nothing came to terminal and command never returned. At the interupt (^C), there was message(from ksh or /bin/echo) that /dev/tty0 could not be created. The /dev/tty0 is alredy there and I tried to delete it and recreate it through smit. The behavior did not change. Am I missing something or is it a well known problem with 3.1 drivers? tnx. -- ___________________________________________________________________ Zdenko Tomasic, Rice U., Chem. Dept., P.O.
