Under Unix System V.4 (NCR System 3000), directories with names such as
/00, /01, /02, etc. are removed when the system is rebooted.  This occurs
even with files below those directories.  Directories such as /01dirone,
/02dirtwo, etc are not removed.

Does anyone know at what point the system removes these directories and
how this could be prevented?
