Message-ID: Date: 9 Apr 91 11:33:14 GMT Sender: mpc@rac.com Distribution: comp Organization: RAC Information Systems, Inc. Great Neck, NY Lines: 34 We have been experiencing a problem with a uucp link between two local machines. Vital statistics follow: Machine 1 Machine 2 --------- ---------- AT&T 8386 WGS IBM PS/2 Model 80 6 Mb 8 Mb Xenix 2.3.2 Xenix 2.3.2 Com/xi 8 port DigiBoard 2 MC/Xi 8 port DigiBoards Driver Rev 4.3.0 Driver Rev 4.6.0 They are set up DigiBoard to DigiBoard with a null-modem cable. 19200 Baud. The AT&T box polls the PS/2. Most of the time, everything works fine ( It polls twice an hour ). However, occasionally the link goes dead and on the PS/2 console we get the message: "getty on ttyi1c keeps dying... there may be a problem." Both Digiboards check out fine. If you hang a terminal off the suspect port, everything works fine. Has anyone ever experienced a similar problem? Thanks in advance to anyone with any info. -- Mark Clements Email: uunet!rac!mpc RAC Information Systems, Inc mpc@rac.com Great Neck, NY
