I need HIMEM.SYS in order to run my applications from WINDOWS. HIMEM.SYS is causing problems with my floppy drives. The problem is trying to save a retrieved file to another disk. When I try to do this, I get a disk error 34. I believe it is looking for the original disk, because those retrieved files are still open on that disk. When I take HIMEM.SYS out of my CONFIG.SYS file, I don't have this problem. I can save retrieved files to any disk. The company I have WINDOWS registered through is ZNIX. I called their technical support staff. They told me to add STACKS=0,0 to my CONFIG.SYS file. Unfortunately this did not work. I have a PC compatible 80386 33mgh machine. I am currently running DOS 4.01. If you have any information that can be of help to me I will greatly appreciate it.
