I've seen a different variation on this problem.  If I start
WordPerfect 5.1 under Windows 3.0, "shell out" (CTL-F1) to DOS,
and type "exit" to return to WordPerfect, then WordPerfect runs
slowly as you described.  Other than this particular quirk, I
haven't had any problems with it running slowly.

My anticipated solution is to upgrade to WordPerfect for Windows
when it becomes avaialable.
