I've posted code to do this before, if anyone wants it again just let me
know.  It's in C++, but it's not that big a deal to rewrite, and it not
only handles turning off the defaultPosition, but allows you to set a
new position relative to the parent (e.g. top left, bottom right, etc).

I'm not sure which upsets me more: that people are so unwilling to accept
responsibility for their own actions, or that they are so eager to regulate
everyone else's.
