I obviously have no personal experience with either machine, but somebody over on Genie suggested that the Kurzweil was better, that is more acurate and faster if you use the discover software. Apparently Kurzweil has 2 softwares, if that's a word, for the kpr. One is like wiat you have with the stand-alone kpr, inflexible and all that, and the other is called discover, made for sighted users, aut apparently usable by a blind person if you're persistent. The guy described it as having more settings that a 747, so I'm not sure how practical it is, but he's using it. So, maybe you need to check out both kinds of software. I don't know anything about pc kpr cost. I like the Arkenstone people, so I hope their product is truly compeditive. I'd rather buy from them than from xyrox, if you know what I mean.
