SP> What on earth is cueing? Shirley, the cueing that Robin was referring to is "Cued Speech" or "CS", a system developed by Dr. Orin Cornett of Gallaudet as sort of a supplement to speechreading. Many phonemes cannot be distinguished by speechreading alone, so CS establishes a system of "cues" (handshapes and positions) to help with the words that can't reliably be discriminated by speechreading.
