HELP !!!

I am running SCO 3.2.2  bnews 2.11pl19

when running expire or rnews -U, I get the error message:

inews: Can't lock /usr/spool/news/.rnews Invalid argument

Then a shell prompt and no news gets unbatched.

Please e-mail as news is not too reliable yet.
