Spoofing is the conventional term for a #special feature in the modem where it becomes intimately involved in the #file transfer protocol. The mere ability to do uucp transfers with the #modem is not "spoofing", only when the modem has a special feature for #the protocol. #What special register/switch settings do you adjust to turn on the spoofing #in your MultiTech 224EH? -- #.------------------------------------------------------------------------. #| Greg Andrews | UUCP: {apple, amdahl, claris}!netcom!gandrews | #| | Internet: gandrews@netcom.COM | #`------------------------------------------------------------------------' ---------- I think there is some confusion concerning the term spoofing. The Multitech 224 spoofs HP ENQ/ACK ^E/^F for the HP3000 machines. I don't believe this has anything to do with UUCP. If ^E/^F are a factor in UUCP transfers, then you will need to turn ENQ/ACK pacing off AT&E8. You may want to turn off Pacing AT&E12. This makes the modem transparent to any flow control. This might mess up binary file transfers. If you use speed conversion you need flow control. BOBB
