All the pieces are in place but one. We have the Alphanumeric beepers, Motorola PMR2000's. We have the ability to do pretty much anything we want to with our unix system under a power fluctuation. We don't however, have the following: 1) The knowledge of what these beepers want to get to see alphanumeric codes. Legend here has it that these beepers want some form of wierd octets driven from the tone pad, and that these are decoded into alphanumeric. 2) The tip/cu program capable of sending those codes. (This is for a sun 4/370) 3) A sales rep for the beepers that has ANY idea what computer dialing is. He suggests we get a 'keyboard' that hooks to a phone to send these wierd octets.
