I will soon be getting a laptop, and switching to a PC from my Mac will be quite a change. Here are my problems and questions. My understanding of printing/fonts on the Mac is: software sends font information to LW driver, followed by text/graphics. How do PC apps print? I know that there are no universal print drivers, and that apps are not device-independent, so how are fonts handled?? I want to be able to write documents on my laptop, format them, and create a postscript file to convert to a Mac and download to the LW. But, is the font information saved in the postscript file? If not, how do I preserve font information during the PC-Mac transfer? Can I use the same fonts on each machine? Thanks for the help. schoen2@husc9.harvard.edu
